To work with architects to design a wrap around extension with sloping roof windows and parapet walls. The client wanted a modern open plan kitchen/dinning incorporating a number of design ideas which including brick feature walls, floor to ceiling windows, bifold doors, roof windows and sky-lanterns.
To keep the design minimalistic, we built the extension with stone capped parapet walls. In doing so we eliminated the need for plastic fascia, soffit and guttering, making for a much slicker design. The sloping roof windows above the kitchen units were positioned to illuminate the back of the room, furthest away from the ‘wall of glass’ that is the full-height bifold doors. The marble floor and white quartz worktops keep the room light and spacious, contrasting against the anthracite tones of the vertical radiators, windows and bi-folds. The end product is a balanced contemporary style, that really stands out.
